Nick DaPonte - Principal

Nicholas DaPonteMr. DaPonte has been the Principal of Bethel Middle School since July 2016. Previous to that he worked as the Assistant Principal and Interim Principal of Dag Hammarskjold Middle School in Wallingford, Connecticut. Before that he taught 7th and 8th grade Social Studies at Amity Middle School in Orange for nine years where he also held several leadership roles. He earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Music with a Minor in History from Western Connecticut State University, Master’s Degree in Teaching from Quinnipiac University, and lastly a 6th Year Degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University. When not at school he enjoys spending time with his family. This includes his wife and four children. On the rare event that there is a quiet moment in his house, he also enjoys listening to music or playing one of his instruments. 
 Bryan Watson - Assistant Principal
 Bryan WatsonA graduate of Bethel High School, Mr. Watson began his career in 2005 at Bethel Middle School teaching 7th grade social studies. In addition to his work in the classroom, Mr. Watson served as co-curriculum leader of the social studies department, ice hockey coach for BHS, track coach at BMS, co-chair of the Darfur Club, and a member of numerous committees that foster school improvement and positive school culture. Mr. Watson graduated from W.C.S.U in 2002, with a BA in Psychology. While at W.C.S.U., he played ice hockey for the University. He later continued his graduate studies at Sacred Heart University, earning a Master’s degree in Secondary Education and a 6th year in administration. In 2006, Mr. Watson married his wife Jessica Deleo. In 2010 they welcomed their daughter Quinn and in 2015 their daughter Mae. An avowed family man, Mr. Watson’s other passions include the Boston Red Sox, playing ice hockey, and spending time with friends.

Pam Chapman - Assistant Principal

Pam ChapmanPamela Chapman has spent her entire career in Bethel.  For thirty three years she taught English at Bethel High School.  During that time she also served as advisor to the National Honor Society, coordinator of the Gifted program, and director of a variety of student performances.  For the past eight years she has taken on the role of assistant principal as part of the administrative team at Bethel Middle School.  Ms. Chapman graduated from Upsala College in New Jersey with a BA in English, from WCSU with an MS in education and a concentration in English, and from Sacred Heart University with an administrative degree.  In her free time she is an avid reader, a tennis player, and an animal lover.
